superproxy - a tribute

I heard the news just this afternoon. The very minute our tv was turned on, the news about Francis Magalona's death was airing. A man dubbed as the "Master Rapper". Who could forget about the songs "Mga Kababayan ko", "Tayo'y Mga Pinoy" and "Kaleidoscope World"? I may not know him personally, but I know him as a music artist. His compositions were some of the songs I listened to when I was growing up. Songs that speak of patriotism and hope that easily became an anthem to the Filipino youth. He was only 44 when he passed away. Quite young, as most people say. But his existence was a fruitful one for all his contributions to the local music scene, the biggest one by bringing the nationalistic Filipino hip hop to the mainstream. And for that and more, he has long earned my appreciation and deep respect for him and his craft.
My condolences to Francis M's family.
