The Proust Questionnaire

The Proust Questionnaire has its origins in a parlor game popularized (though not devised) by Marcel Proust, the French essayist and novelist, who believed that, in answering these questions, an individual reveals his or her true nature. Here is the basic Proust Questionnaire.

1. What is your idea of perfect happiness?
I have no idea. I have long realized that perfect happiness could not be found here on Earth.
2. What is your greatest fear?
The future. And knowing that I have made a waste of my short existence.
3. What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Being sleepy.
4. What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Greediness.
5. Which living person do you most admire?
Can't think of any.
6. What is your greatest extravagance?
Original Audio CDs, books, and 120 films.
7. What is your current state of mind?
Indifference.
8. What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Love.
9. On what occasion do you lie?
When forced to respond on a question I preferred not to answer.
10. What do you most dislike about your appearance?
My weight. I still need to lose 12 pounds.
11. Which living person do you most despise?
There's too many of them, I can't just pick one.
12. What is the quality you most like in a man?
Passion.
13. What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Strength.
14. Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
Whatever.
15. What or who is the greatest love of your life?
Myself. Just as much as I hate my own self.
16. When and where were you happiest?
It's hard to think of any, but the one that I instantly recalled was when I was part of theater club in highschool.
17. Which talent would you most like to have?
Diligence.
18. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
My chronic emotional imbalances.
19. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I don't know.
20. If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?
Still myself, but under different circumstances.
21. Where would you most like to live?
Near the ocean. In an abandoned lighthouse.
22. What is your most treasured possession?
Talents, perhaps.
23. What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
When no one provides any comfort and you can't even find it within yourself.
24. What is your favorite occupation?
An occupation that centers more on missions and less about millions.
25. What is your most marked characteristic?
Being childlike.
26. What do you most value in your friends?
The quality of the ties that bind us.
27. Who are your favorite writers?
At the moment, James Fray, Amy Tan, and Igan D'Bayan.
28. Who is your hero of fiction?
Elektra.
29. Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Can't think of any.
30. Who are your heroes in real life?
My parents.
31. What are your favorite names?
Sigrid. Ayeshah. Alexandra. Eduard.
32. What is it that you most dislike?
Mediocrity and being too typical.
33. What is your greatest regret?
Being too naive during my younger years.
34. How would you like to die?
Sudden and while sleeping.
35. What is your motto?
Do something that means something.
